Will be fortunate to medal at all. Faith is tough and in great form. 3:56 PB.
Dibaba's time was 4:02.59.
I agree it's looking like one medal for the USA,unless Kipyegon beats both women

Kipyegon will take it like a woman possessed.
She will ruin virtually everyone and upset that apple cart.
I have no idea as to who will win.
Pretty slow for a bloke.
You need a new pair of eyes.

I agree Kipyegon is not intimidated by Dibaba's runs or world record and is going for nothing less than gold. After two rounds heading to the final, I predict Dibaba will be mortal like anyone else and Kipyegon will be ready to beat her. All her runs so far this year have been straight finals. So it was easier mentally and physically just run fast and finish. Three rounds will definitely hurt her chances. And even if she were to win, her chances in the 5000m will be diminished due to the depth in the 1500m rounds upto the final. So maybe unlike Mo Farah who I doubt will win his second gold, 'Uhuru' not yet for Dibaba!
If that looks like a dude, then I must be gay (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Dibaba spent a lot of energy running that. Accelerated too much to gap the field in a heat. Plus the sprint in the final few meters just to get the "win"
Several runners ran harder than needed. Meanwhile, Rowbury and Simpson expended the minimum amount of energy needed to qualify.
If your 'too juiced to lose', then you can afford the extravagance of doing that sort of nonsense.

She was 12 seconds slower than her PR. She'll recover in time.

I hope she invests the winnings wisely, so in a few years when future doping tests catch her and she must pay back all of her winnings, said winnings made her some $$$$ and she isn't in the red.
How many people actually end up Paul back their winnings? You think ramzi went with a checkbook back to Nike and repaid his bonus checks for winning WC's and Olympics? C'mon, man!

I know you are aware she is a 5000 runner also. You do understand that a 14:15 5000 talent does not become mortal running 4500 meters of rounds for a 1500 meter final??? These rounds should have virtually no affect on her in the final. She is in great condition. The final of the 5000 is a different story. But the 1500 is a virtual lock barring being affected by heat or something.

Yeah, I wish Faith had just relaxed instead of going with her. Then again, maybe that's just part of the plan; tire her out.

Laura Muir should do well. I'm not saying she will get a bronze but top 5 hopefully.
