Mo trips on the third lap.
Galen is only a shadow of what he once was.
Rupp has never medaled at these championships. Title is misleading.
I would be curious to know more about the other runners in the race. But if the assessment is that nobody can touch Farah's speed, then I think that bodes well for Rupp medaling. He looked damn strong in the USATF 10000M even by elite East African standards. His weakness right now is closing speed. I'm betting that he has worked on that since US championships, and that he had trained through the mile race in Portland and therefore didn't have it that day.
My thinking is Rupp will medal because, why not? who else is there? If somebody can convince me other runners besides Farah are that great, then I will change my mind.
The 10000m is weaker than in the past due to testing. Mo has the superior closing speed and the only way Kamworor can beat him is by a suicidal pace.
Rupp can medal on a good day, but so can several others. The bronze is the open spot here.
1) Mo
2) Kam
3) Tanui, Rupp, Edris...

I don't see the race going fast from the gun. I see a hard last 4000. I think Rupp is likely top 6 again with a 20 percent shot at bronze.
that's certainly possible. Kam needs a fast section to take the sting out of Farah's kick.
Could you elaborate on how you computed this 20% chance of a medal for galen?

Yeah, something like throwing in a 3.28 1500m mid race, or a fast two miler. Oh hang on a minute...
I'd love to see a real war of attrition though so bring it on!
my calculations indicate the winner is irrelevant, the real winners are the EPO and PED dealers.
Can we PLEASE get a full (or as full as possible) entries list, we're three days down to start and not even the official IAAF site seems to have one (at least not one easy to find).
For one, are the ugandians sending a full team, they started building a east african powerhouse of their own over the last cuppla years, ya know? Those two gold medals in the marathon during last two champs should have worked wonders for new talent coming up ready to surprise us by now, not necessarily gold, but getting in the mix at 10000 too.
How hard can it be to put up a Real Time entries list in 2015? The IAAF can measure 100 meter splits down to 1/1000 of a second, but not put such a list online - Embarrasing!

No, good grief, please refrain from saying such ignorant things.
If that were the case, why are 100 meter times faster than ever, and why are marathoners smashing all of the records.
Please think before typing.
A good diet and attention to optimum training help runners far more than dangerous toxic drugs, that don't provide any benefits whatsoever, only diversion from reality - and they make your mentality perverted as well.

What the hell are you talking about??? You would be better off lurking if you are actually going to post such drivel.

.
Farah lost world indoors in 2012. In fact, he didn't even get a medal. He was 4th behind Lagat, Choge, and Soi.
Don't try to call this a minor meet. Everyone was focused on it. There was prize money. All the top names were there. It's Farah's best race distance.
The world indoor 3000 might actually be harder than the outdoor championships. Instead of having the field separated into 1500, 5000, and 10000 as in outdoors, all athletes are in one race. Much more competitive.
Galen will probably just miss a medal. 5th-7th. He looks just as strong if not stronger than ever, but his closing speed doesn't seem to be there. Maybe if he makes a move inside a mile to go, 1000m at the least, he gives him self the best chance.
Mo can win if the pace is modest. If a collection of runners really try to make the pace fast and honest, Mo could lose.
tony the tiger sez mo will finally face a teamwork, but he is going with salazar 2 beijing 4 gold no matter what, to finally show the h8ers he can win any type of race
Myself, I regrettably think Mo will win yet again. The Kenyans will push the pace some, but not enough in the end. Having done a lot of work, they will fade a bit over last lap, Edris will kick for silver and Kamworor will hang on for bronze.
That's my prediction anyway ... I could see it going lots of ways though. Pretty much all of them involve Mo winning.
You never know though ... I doubt much of anyone was picking Jeilan to win in 2011.
Mo is lucky he doesn't have the likes of a Tergat or Shihine to go up against ... or the Tadesse of some years back for that matter.
