IME, 2 mile time for fit runners = (Mile pr x 2) + 25-40 secs.
Endurance based 5k/ 2 mile specialists athletes can approach the 25 sec conversion mark while speed based milers will probably be closer to the 40 sec conversion. Most will fall in the 30-35 second range.
If you want to break 10 for 2 mile, concentrate on breaking 4:45 for the mile first.
