To the guy who keeps saying Gatlin will run 9.4X: Are we really supposed to believe that?
It's ironic there are such a plethora of people that think he will even run under 9.6X. That kind of outlandish prediction is just insubstantiated rumor and hearsay.
This begs the question of what Gatlin will really run come the end of the month. For all instensive purposes I allege he will run no faster than 9.8. You heard it here first!

Gatlin running a 9.6x is more plausible than him running no faster than a 9.80. 9.4 is obviously out of the question. but I hope you're not one of those fanboys that thinks Bolt'll be in WR shape on Sunday.
Gatlin takes this going away.

I agree with this. It's going to be a tactical race like all championship racing is. You don't have to be a track and field buff to know this.

If the situation is ideal, Gatlin may sneak under 9.70. Gatlin is losing to Bolt in both the 100 and 200, like it or not. Bolt is going to run 9.60-9.65 again after seeing his magical German doctor, and Gatlin can't touch that.

If all things were fair and equal he would win in 9.6 and bits. However the IAAF are out to get him to make athletics look clean. They want to DQ him in the early rounds. They will double start the final. So his time will be slower than it should be because of the sanctimonious IAAF. Wow where did I get that word from.

As in if they do not get him in the rounds they will get him in the final by double starting it. I am surprised you could not see the two ideas and have the intelligence to understand. and fill in the blanks. Queens English? America?
gatlin can run 9.75 every day of the week.
that means if he pops one your are talking at least a 9.65.
so if gatlin has improved and peaked well for the champs, then a WR is not out of the question.
bolt.
he was in 9.8 low shape and he's one for the big meet so he'll be able to go 9.7 low. but no WR, it does no figure.
powell is in shape but he's not a good one after rounds.
same with rupp, he's loses the edge after a hard heat, that is at the ultimate level.
if you bet on runners, look at those who don't fare well after heats.
