3rd and 4th beers still had a lot left in the bottle.
Just sayin'...
Boss. I wish it was done in a competition setting like his 5:0x was.
3rd and 4th beer were not finished!!!
I think all beer mile records have to be filmed by one's girlfriend or wife...

"It's something I've been working on for a few weeks now. Training has included 3 shorter interval sessions (200-400m) with beer recovery in the final set. I've also been drinking one beer per night at top speed and on a Sunday after my long run eating as much food as I can with a beer to finish once I'm close to puking."
jeez!

I don't think people are going to respond well to this one. Kudos to him for showing us how much beer was left in the bottles, but the 3rd and 4th beers don't look sufficiently empty in my opinion.
There needs to be a rule for record purposes stating the maximum amount of beer (by volume) that can be left over per bottle, or in total.
Pretty good. He didn't spill as much beer as guys in Austin, etc., so I am good with his performance.

Exactly. If there's an allowable amount of dripping, then this counts, because this guy didn't lose a drop of beer. So even if a couple of his beers had a quarter-inch of beer left, I would hope this stands.
First I've seen someone do it with bottles. I'd think bottles would be faster but that cans were required.
Josh Harris and Nielsen to Square off at Beer Mile World Classic August 22nd:
This is a very historic day for the beer mile:It's possible that Josh Harris's record won't last the day. We just got a text from Lewis Kent in Toronto saying he broke Harris record. 4:55.78 is what we've heard...Lewis pretty diligent and his bottles are always clean if you watch his other races. Lewis said there were 30 people in the race. So, we have seen a sub-5 in a competitive event. We're glad they could share this historic day, and each get a bit of glory...pending ratification of course. We're excited about the race on August 22. It is shaping up to be the Beer Mile of the Century. It is possible ESPN will do another piece on the beer mile. Details are still be worked out... This was the last one they did in May: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=12806447Also, we should have betting odds up soon. Who do you have...Nielsen/Harris/Kent?Can a beer be drunk out of a can in under 5 seconds?

Well until we see the video, Josh Harris is the new WR holder. Congrats Josh and I hope to see the record drop further.
Absolutely...

He will break the WR.
He will win the Beer Mile World Classic.
He will date your sister.
His name is Lewis Kent.
Why all this talk about beer miles? It's very uncivilized. Can't we have a wine mile for the gentleman runner?
Beer left in every bottle! Josh Harris had less beer unfinished. I say Harris is the true record holder.

Super impressive of course. But at this level where 1 or 2 seconds separate the top guys we have to nitpick, so here goes: that is the most walking while drinking I've ever seen in one of these WR beer mile videos. Is that allowed?

I do believe they have 9 meters to walk.
Based on how easily Harris was running, I am positive that he's going to get under 4:50 (maybe close to 4:45) in San Fran.
Big questions:
1. Will FloTrack cover this World Beer Mile Classic?
2. Will there be PED drug testing? There's too much at stake to assume that everybody will be clean.
3. Who's inspecting the beer before the event? Does it have to been in a secure location, guarded by a neutral party? It seems like there's deflate-gate tampering potential here.
As the voice of the sport, it seems that the Brosjo should have on the ground live coverage of the event with pre and post interviews, etc.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
