3M Half Marathon in Austin as a Trials Qualifier

So according to the certification form 3M half marathon exceeds the m/km drop "the course must be USATF/IAAF/AIMS certified with an active course certification and have an elevation loss no greater than 3.25 meters/km."

(The certification shows the 3M course is 4.5 m/km drop)

Yet if you look at the list of B standard qualifiers using the 1/2 there is a female runner who has qualified, listing the 3M half marathon as the qualifying race. Am I missing something here?

She scammed the system. Let her be... back in the day, I remember guys would qualify from the Austin Marathon, which was mostly downhill and you'd have 2:22 guys running 2:18 and 2:18 guys running 2:15 ,but they ran the Trials.

If you're talking Ali Mendez, I believe she qualified at the Philly Half as well.

Yes, an athlinks search says she ran a 1:13:47 at Philly, which would have qualified her as well. Perhaps this was an oversight on her part, not knowing that 3M would be excluded. Either way, she's in.

Yes, In fact, I DID qualify for the Olympic Trials at the Philly Half Marathon in November 2013- with a 1:13:47. Not realizing that 3M was going to "re-qualify" me or take the most recent half marathon time. Otherwise, OT bound! :)
