Davidson is going to win on the Mens side.
Top 7 Men - Duquesne, George Mason, Davidson, St. Joseph's, Dayton, Fordham, Richmond
Whats up with VCU? How come they never compete? I live in Richmond near the XC house..looks pretty depressing?
It is hard to have a good cross team there unless you go Foreign. Which is what spooner did when he was there. It is not a school known for Cross Country.
wouldnt be surprised to see umass in the top half of the conference. they had some solid results in the 1500 and up at a10s outdoors
I agree. I would put them equal with Richmond for 7 my spot.
What about SLU? 4th last year and did you see the their incoming recruiting class? They'll be a force to be reckoned with
SLU graduated their top 2 guys (10th and 11th in the A10 meet) and their 5th man.
Their 6th man was 80th in the A10 meet. Lots of rebuilding needed !
Alfano, Quigley and Baines go 1,2,3 but Lasalle won't win
I think Duquesne and George Mason are in a league of their own. I'm fine with projecting either team being first or second.
I'm a bit surprised that La Salle moves from 9th in 2014 to being projected 5th despite losing their #1 and #5? What kind of talent are they brining in? Any redshirts?
Saint Louis loses #1, #2, and #5 and only drops two spots from 4th to 6th? I know they have a few solid recruits coming in, but this is a pretty aggressive projection based on what they're returning.
I can't wait for the season to start to see how this all shakes out.
What does everyone think now?
Not every team has raced their best guys yet so it's hard to say. There have been some pretty good performances so far though. I think in a week or two we'll have a better view of the conference standings.
Fordham (now #12 in NE) and UMass put up some solid times at Beantown this past weekend. A lot of A10 schools are racing Oct 2-3 too. Things are heating up!
Quick times posted this past weekend, especially at Paul Short. St. Joseph's looks strong so far.
So far this year - I see it as:

1. Saint Joseph’s (3rd)
2. Duquesne (2nd)

4. George Mason (1st)
5. Massachusetts (7th)
6. La Salle (9th)
7. Fordham (10th)
8. Saint Louis (4th)
9. Richmond (6th)
10. George Washington (11th)
11. Dayton (8th)
12. Rhode Island (13th)
13. VCU (12th)
14. St. Bonaventure (14th)
Women:
1. Duquesne (1st)

14. VCU (14th)
St Joes is the class of the field. Mason was the sleeper last year, but I don't think teams will sleep on them again. They havent raced much - so have to see how they run in a few weeks. I wouldnt count out Davidson either - if St Joes has a bad day - they could sneak in for the win. Umass looks like they are alot stronger this year too.
Not sure about the women. Duquesne should repeat again. GW looks like they got WAY better. Dont know much about them. Looking at Paul Short results they beat Umass by over 200 points - and St. Joes ran faster then Umass as well. Lasalle held out their top runner last week - with the top returner they should do well. Dont think they have the depth to beat Duq. tho.
Duquesne women should win? What team are you looking at? You do realize they lost to st louis at national catholics with the same roster? My money would be on lasalle
Kevin McDonnell is going to blow up this year, Bonnie's sneaks in for the win
Looks like the Lasalle team found Nico Greco's PED stash from 2013 based on how they ran at Princeton. Very Impressive. Classic end of the season performance by St. Joe's mens team.
