Well, I'm glad he did this well. I had my doubts. But for all his talk of working on his starts, where are the starts? He's going to have to improve on that to even be close to Gatlin.

One thing to note, and not taking anything away from bolt. But most of the field ran a seasons best or PB or close to it. 9.90 for Rodgers has gotta be close to PB and guy in third I think that was his PB 9.92. So to me the jury's still out let's see how he fairs next time out

If u watch the race bolt start wasnt bad, looks like he has lost some strength or power? Id venture to say he has lost more strength since he seemed fined mid race. Loss in strength correlates well with stopping doses of that stuff. Mighty strange that the entire camp (bolt, blake and weir) are running slow. Since the jadco has been revamped jamaica hasnt been the same. Asafa left jamaica and trains in texas but is running mediocre for he and bolt (9.8s and 9.9). A couple jamaicans recently changed their nationality. Lets not act like because bolt ran 9.8high that he is ready to go 9.6. That race was trash and not much was wrong from a technical standpoint. His reaction was there just he had problems overcoming inertia. His problems are physical (lack of strength in my opinion). I personally hooe gatlin crushes him because if people think a guy can go from running 19.7(once and a pr at the time) to running 19.2 in one year they are crazy. Still amazing because i honestly think if u are in an olympic or world championship final that you are doping.

The heats were much more impressive. Bolt also didn't have a perfect start, was behind by two metres, then gained the lead at about 60m, and looked around and visibly eased up 10-15m before the finish. He could have run 9.80 or faster had he not eased up, and faster still with a perfect start. With a tailwind, he could have had a WL.

In the final, he didn't have such a great run, his start was poor, and he had to fight for the win. But if he can bring everything together, I would not put it past him to run 9.69. Of course, who knows if that will be enough to beat Gatlin.

With zero wind and a quicker start it could've been a 9.80. His reaction time was 0.17!! Gatlin has a few hundredths on him already if he can't improve on that.

True, but one can clearly see that he was doing just enough to win the race. He also shut it down a few yards from the line. Bolt has plenty in reserve, while Gatlin floors it every race.
