What is the difference between a moderate run and an easy run?
Also, the workout given to me is:
4 mil run @ moderate pace
10 hill sprints
1 mile run
my coach never said how I should do the one mile run. do you think she wants it done at moderate pace or easy?
The last one mile is done at race pace. Never finish a workout with a cool down. They are a waste of time and train you to finish races slow.

Great question...as my fitness improves, my "moderate" pace slowly becomes my "easy pace," or at least gets close to it. For me, easy pace is tough in general, as it feels very slow and I do not like running that slowly.

Run more.
moderate pace is about marathon pace, maybe a little faster if you're training for middle distance
easy pace is just that, so easy you could run at it all day. At easy pace you can chat with your buddies. At moderate pace, you could hold a broken conversation, but really would not want to.
