So an acquaintance claims to have done this workout: 15 x 400m at 60 secs. Didn't say amount of rest, which of course is relevant. So lets say he's doing 90 seconds rest. I'm calling BS. Give me ammunition...how fast would this guy have to be at mill or 5K to be able to pull off this workout?

Agreed. Ran with 2 sub 4 guys in college and they would be hard pressed to do that workout even with 2 min. rest. Also ran with a sub 13:50 guy and he wouldn't of been able to pull that off either.
Sub 4 for sure and, maybe, ~13:30s? I would even think even faster.
Any sub 4 guy worth his salt should be able to do 12x400 @ 60 w/ 60 rest.
The talent level to do that probably requires great strength (sub13:40 for 5k) and 356y abilitiy for mile

Is Bannister worth his salt? He only did 10*400 for 60 and barely broke 4. Def not "easy" for any sub 4 guy.
Pretty sure Bannister ran 10x400 in 59.
10 x 400 in 60 is like 4:04-6 fitness.
