Webb or Iverson?
Webb or Iverson?
Iverson would win if he could get in a little practice first.
Webb ran a 47 quarter in senior year in high school in a meet at which he tripled.
I think Culpepper should be included honestly
Webb has run 22.9 in practice. I would give him the edge.
Allen Iverson was a good sprinter in high school, so I think he could do it.
Allen Johnson would kick both of their butts in the 400!!!
It was 49 seconds not 47. He ran his 47 on a day when he doubled. These are the two meets...
Concorde District Championships
1600(4:06.74(2:14+1:52)(66/68/55/57)!)+400(49.49)+800(1:49.53)
Virginia AAA Championships
800(1:47.74) and 4X400(47.4)
Webb would win

In VA we only had the 200 (which at state is only the finals between the 800 and 4x4. So just think...run 1:47, 10 min maybe for both 200s, 2 sections of girls 4x4, maybe one guys..thats no more than what 25-30 min?
Iverson
also, Iverson would win the 100
Oh, brother. Which John would have won in a gymnastics competition? John Belushi or John Candy? That's right; it's a silly question.
Picturing it is pretty funny, though.
Hey Nigga Please. Get a clue. Yea. Speed kills. We know that. Still, your completely underating Webb. You seem to forget he ran... well... how much faster than your fake time? 5 seconds? 10? When you get to that point the difference is bigger than you think. Why do you think the 1500 was so close in the olympics this year? It's hard to improve at that level because you start reaching the limits of human running capacity. (Not THE limit.. but your getting a lot closer)
Yea. A.I. might give Webb a run for his money... and even might win. It woulden't be a blowout eiher. If they both trained... it would be interesting.
And dont give me this bullshit about how people like A.I. could be a badass distance runner if they "wanted" to. Being a excellent distance runner requires much more than speed. Things like "Lungs," a large "Heart," and "Biomechanics" matter more and more as you increase distance. But then that dosen't matter as much to Webb either. Hes a miler. Milers are MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNERS. Remember that term. They are typically balanced individuals.
AI on the otherhand is a BASKETBALL PLAYER!
hey mike hows that damn blow up doll coming???
Who would win in a pickup game to 20 if the court was 400 meters long?
It would be pretty competitive.
In I 200, I would give the nod to Webb, but the shorter you get, the more the advantage shifts to Iverson.
I would pick Inverson in the Indoor 50 or 60m.
Alan Greenspan is not black.
But how good of a sprinter is Iverson NOW. Webb NOW, with 1:46 point 800 speed, would need to be about 11.0 in the 100.

how do you figure that a 1:46 800 runner needs to have 11.0 100 meter speed?
gabe jennings has run 1:46 point. i highly doubt that he could have run 11.0, especially not from a standing start.
(i'm not saying that webb can't run 11.0. frankly, i have no idea if he can. maybe he can start quick out of the blocks, maybe he can't. i have no idea. i'm just refuting the idea that 11.0 100 speed is necessary to be able to run 1:46.)
as for the original question. A.I. is clearly very quick. he is used to running bursts of only 40-50 feet, however. if i had to guess, which is all this thread is, i would guess that A.I. would beat webb. if the race had a running start, i would probably give webb the nod.
but who knows? maybe iverson only looks fast compared to lumbering 7-footers.
p.s. both A.I. and Webb would be absolutely blown out by top-flight 200 meter runners.
