He's a history major, just ask Justin Gatlin. But don't ask Paula, Bernie, Bob, Evan or Ben. Certainly don't ask about which conditions he took medicines for during his own career.
I'm going to let you totally sidetrack the thread because I am so strong on anti-doping.
I think you are saying we ask drug questions to Justin Gatlin and Nike Oregon Project athletes but don't ask other athletes about what they take: Paula (Radcliffe), Bernie (Lagat), Bob (Kennedy I assume? I 'm not sure, I haven't seen Bob Kennedy in 5 years), Evan (Jager) and Ben (Blankenship). And also that I won't discuss what medicines I took during my career.
Even if I never asked anyone else a supplement question it is perfectly reasonable to ask Justin Gatlin and the Nike Oregon Project athletes drug questions. Justin Gatlin received a 4 year drug suspension. He has never come clean on what he did. The Nike Oregon Project is under investigation by USADA and questionable practices were pointed out by the BBC and ProPublica. Those who have flunked drug tests in the pasts or are in groups under investigation merit more questions. So it does not matter whether I ask Ben Blankenship about supplement usage, it is still a legitimate question to ask Galen Rupp. No one has come out with allegations of possible abuse of the TUE system by Ben's group.
People attack the messenger when they don't like the message. The questions are perfectly legitimate.
However, I am an equal offender when it comes to drug questions. Did you get upset when I asked Carmelita Jeter about Mark Block? Should I have asked an athlete who didn't work with Mark Block about Mark Block? No.
****
However, the funny thing is I have asked many of the athletes above drug/supplement questions.
Right here: Evan Jager Discusses His Supplement Usage and People Who Say He Must Be Doping
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=914QOdbJGsc#t=196sI asked Ben Blankenship as part of a group thing with OTC athletes a week before USAs what supplements they take.
I asked Bernard Lagat about his "A" sample positive:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XtdU8fnklk#t=925James Li, Lagat's coach claims we are the ones who told him of Lagat's positive test, as when we called him he said he did not know of it.
We have pointed out Bob Kennedy was on thyroid medication and Paula Radcliffe took asthma medication.
I have already answered on the forums when I was in Flagstaff trying to make the Olympics I took liquid iron. I took a multivitamin from time to time. I am in the NY Times for being an advocate of caffeine before races ( a double espresso). I did not take thyroid medication. I think I took claritin or one of those over the counter allergy pills in 2003 or 2004. If I got sick I may have taken an antibiotic. That's it. I drove in my car to higher altitude to sleep in the back before big races. I did high-low training. I did both those things because I thought they'd help me compete better.
I have posted on here I saw one time Dr. Anthony Galea, the doctor who Tiger Woods and a ton of others saw and who was later arrested for bringing HGH across the border. Chris Whetstine worked on me in Phoenix one time.
I have nothing to hide. Keep asking away.
The problem you have is when I ask an athlete you like drug questions, now when I ask 10 other athletes drug questions.
