If you are just coming off a 3 month lay off and want to start training again, this time in flats, so you can strengthen your muscles how would you recommend making this transition?
For example I am doing right now about 2 miles per day in a pair of ghost racers. My right achilles is sore, but I think I just need to get used to running in flats, and I normally don't run this much on trails.
I guess what I am looking for is like a recommendation from how to go to a more minimilistic approach from my previous state of cinder block trainers and orthotics. Something along the lines of x minutes per day in them or 2 times a week.
On a scale of 1-10 I am keeping my intensity at a 2 right now and just trying to build by my endurance.
