So who will the USA send as its marathon team to Beijing this summer? I don't recall it being announced or posted anywhere. If it was already sorry for bringing it back up but can you post the team or a link to the team list?

USATF's fault again. Completely incompetent. We already knew at the world trials, but for the marathon we have to wait to tue last moment for them to decide on an arbitrary random criteria. Send Meb, Ritz, and X.
It doesn't make financial sense to run Worlds- unless you win there isn't much there. The prize money is ok but I would think that our bet can get more at a big city race.
Maybe they should drop it at worlds and designate one of the WMM's as the World Championship- kind of rotate it like the schedule for WMM does- maybe the last race can be worlds?

This is a very good idea. One question - the WMM have refused to accept the registration of any athlete previously convicted of doping. What happens if a country nominates an athlete for Worlds who was banned for a set period of time and is now eligible (in theory) to compete again?

It makes sense for people who have been dreaming of wearing the USA vest their entire lives and want practice in a hot weather marathon.
Two of the women are Esther Erb (2014 US Marathon Champion at Twin Cities) and Heather Leiberg (2015 US Marathon at L.A. #2). Blake Russell supposedly declined the spot that would have been hers from the 2015 race. Don't know who got the 3rd spot. Serena Burla maybe?
On a side query, saw Desi listed as a Pan Am athlete. She running marathn or tenK, anyone know?
July 25, 7AM. What will the temperature and humidity be in Toronto?
Rob Watson ( 2:13 - 2 years ago ) is running for Canada.
Jeffrey Eggleston posted a cryptic tweet comparing Denver smog to that of Beijing. Nick Arciniaga must be a contender too given his hectic marathon schedule. Jared Ward and Matt llano were 1 and 2 in the US marathon in LA.
I know of two women wrote:

LA isn't an IAAF certified course, so Blake technically didn't have a qualified performance. Heather qualified because of her performance at Twin Cities.
1. From Twin Cities
Scott Smith
The others in front of him turned it down. The place behind Scott (Ian Burrell) was told that he would be the representative from this race because they thought that Scott wasn't interested.
A HUGE MISTAKE AND EFF UP BY USATF
2. The one of the top 5 from LA was Mike Morgan as the top 2 turned it down. Mike got hurt and has notified USATF that he is not going. Both 4th and 5th do not have the standard.
THIS OPENS A SPOT AND CREATES A PROBLEM
The other athletes are supposed to come from a time list.
Jeff Eggleston has accepted.
Here is where the problem occurs. Instead of filling Mike Morgan's position from the time list, usatf has decided that they would send 2 athletes from Twin Cities. This means that any athlete that ran faster than the 2nd selection from Twin Cities was screwed. That time is 2:15:06.
They made this decision to avoid a law suit from either Smith or Burrell.
I remeber reading a while ago that Teg was hoping to make the team, however I don't think that's the case any longer.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
