This is a pretty sleezy way to take the heat off Alberto.
Has nothing to do with Alberto. I read this a few years ago. You should read it toohttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1273469.Footprints_On_The_Water

Abortion doping is fairly common in elite track and field. It's a filthy cesspool at the top. You should not watch or support elite runners. They'd eat their own children if it got them the gold. Sadly, I'm not even joking.
"Pregnancy has been linked to a measurable improvement in athletic performance in female athletes.3 In fact, the effects of pregnancy parallel the effects of blood doping.4 The benefits of pregnancy include an increase in oxygen-rich blood, which in turn helps boost muscle capacity by thirty percent; improved cardiac and lung functions; and an increase in the production ofprogesterone, a sex hormone that makes muscles and joints moreflexible.25Female hormonal changes increase aerobic fitness in the firsttrimester of pregnancy, when the body produces an abundance of beneficial red bloodcells.26In addition, the quadricep [sic] muscles in the legs becomestronger.27"

Isn't "female" redundant?
Not really.
Elite male track and field athletes have been known to intake female hormones associated with pregancy to boost performance.
Elite Track and field is the most f'ed up sport in the world. Your olympic teams are the most self-centered, dope whores you will ever come across. But it was prescibed by a doctor is not an excuse.
