So I've been resting not doing much cross training so my fibia can heal. It's been almost 3 weeks, I still sort of feel something in my leg but not really any pain. Would it be ok to start running again and if so how much? Have any of you had success in running after overcoming a stress fracture? Thanks!
A true SF puts you in a boot for 8-12 weeks but "stress reaction" no running for 4 weeks then 4 weeks of only grass and trail runs.
So if I have a small crack in the bone would that be a stress fracture? My doctor wasn't much help which is frustrating, I'm basically treating myself from what I've seen online. She said the bone tends to heal quickly for someone my age (18) so I was told to take 2 weeks off from running.
A SF usually takes longer than two weeks to heal. Do some pool running if you can or biking if it doesn't hurt, and only go back to running after at least four weeks. You can stay pretty fit cross training. Like someone already mentioned, be sure to start back on soft surfaces and do so slowly.

I didn't train at all for about a month. Once it no longer (or barely) hurt when walking normally, that's when I started training again. Started slowly and gently, running only on grass and the track and on a treadmill. Within a couple of weeks I was pretty much back in the swing of things.
I would recommend swimming if possible, I didn't because I couldn't be bothered, and I ran D1.
I doubt you're healed by now. You should be good 6-8 weeks after you had the fracture though. Just play it safe and pool run for that time
