What the Salazar/NOP doping scandal really boils down to

Androgel isn't shit. And Nike is just a small faction using doctors to get an edge. American Elite track and field stars are a joke. They should give their medals to their doctors who know how to beat the tests. And these recent whistleblowers, they can add rat to their doper label. Saving their own dirty, jaded, rat asses.

On a more positive note, your local 5k has huge mass majority who are clean. Cheer for them. They are your American heroes.

Good old article; let's not forget that the only reason we know Salazar tried those things is because he was transparent with the press regarding his epic athletics induced health crisis; and his quest through the health services community to properly diagnose and treat it.

We may still be in the dark ages as to what extreme training can do to the immune system etc.

The best point is that Salazar, after being technically dead for 14 minutes, allegedly wanted to continue with Androgel even though he knew it massively increased the risk of another deadly heart attack.

Actually, Ryan, this is a classic example of psychological projection. You've demonstrated for whatever reason, you "need" Salazar to be on the level, and that as a result there is no transgression against sounds thinking too large for you to commit in your frantic and misguided effort to protect the "Salazar's clean" hypothesis.

But humor me: When you look at factors 1) through 7) above and attempt to account for them without reaching the obvious conclusion, what exactly do you see? I really am curious what mental steps someone takes to conclude the things you have with regard to Salazar.

You can summarize it in far fewer words than all those bullet points.

It really just comes down to this - Salazar knows how to dope Galen without getting caught. Therefore, why not just cheat?

The only thing I can think of to counter that is the question - Who doesn't know how to dope and get away with it? It is incredibly easy to use EPO without testing positive (just don't be stupid like Fagan). If you think Salazar is cheating, then shouldn't you also think everybody is cheating?

It has everything to do with the original post. It is what the best of the best of the best all have in common in modern track and field.

Sorry youngling, but I know what the top looks like. Gold medals at the highest level turn men and women in twisted ways. Much the same way it twisted the souls of those who came to handle the gold ring on the way to Modor in Tolkien's classic tale. Turns good people into monsters.

Salazar must have forgotten some of the other stuff he "experimented with" much to the detriment of his hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.

Ryan F. will quit being a fan of track if he can't watch Rupp run. Rupp "winning" a second place medal in the Olympics, in a very slow race, was the greatest moment in Ryan F's life. His undershorts required changing after that, and changing every time he watches that race, which he does several times a day.

My question is regarding Thyroid...if Kara's account is true, and AS gave her (as in physically handing her) prescription thyroid medication that she did not have a prescription for, is he breaking a rule? Can anyone point me to the official text in the USADA literature describing the violation?

Just want to stress that I'm not looking to debate whether or not its ethical which is a seperate and very valid issue, but if it breaks the letter of any specific rule.
