Struggled a little the last 100m
If you had said anyone would run a 3:08 and wouldn't have the slowest time of the day in 800 finals, people would have thought you certifiable. But that 3:08 did beat Maggie Vessey's 3:14! How likely is it that the m800 and w800 finals at USAs would both have a finisher over 3 minutes? Odd to say the least.

Oh sweet Jesus I didn't know Vessey jogged in for a 3:14.

I doubt he blew a calf, he was fading then saw 3rd place pass him and quit, I feel for him
What is the masculine equivalent of an attention whore?
why would he finish if he just "quit"?
This is the "twilight zone" we were promised?
You do get $500 for finishing the race and getting 8th place
twilight zone
what an idiot
At least Vessey had a good excuse with Molly Ludlow's catching of Ajee's shoe and tripping up Vessey. Solomon was just having a pity party for 1:50 or so...
I was really surprised he finished after he just stopped and lied down on the track. I guess he probably had to walk that way to get off the track.
Male attention whore, or, just, "attention whore"

I never seen a guy just stop in the 800 or any race with 50 to go. That was bizarre!!! He was spent! Still, jog it and run a 1;50. He stopped and took a 90 second break. OMG
Let's cut the BS on "WR" pace - he was barely on WR pace at 400m (49.7), certainly not at 600m (1.16.5) and then the rest was tragically comical.
Rudishas WR splits were 49.2, 1.14.3 - Solomon probably was much faster in his London run than today.
Totally bizarre last month from Solomon - "best" workouts he has done, DNF'ing twice including Sundays horror. I think he has quite simply completely lost the plot mentally. Tough to come back from...
By twilight zone meant he wouldn't be aware of who or where he was.
Perhaps Solomon should have watched coach Gray's performance in the 1996 Olympic final. It was just before that race Gray mentioned taking the field to the 'twilight zone'. He was kicking butt thru 600m. I've always thought it cost him a medal. This time it probably cost Solomon a spot in the World Championships. Both athletes fell apart at roughly the same place. Gray was well under 2 minutes though.

RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
