What percentage of high school athletes do you predict run what mileage?
Rules:
1.For the sake of consistency lets say high school seniors specifically.
2. Assume no cross training, biking miles can be converted to running at a 5:1 ratio
3. Assume they are male.
4. Assume they are at least semi-decent runners sub 19 at the slowest.
5. We are talking about AVERAGE MILEAGE not PEAK mileage

I'd like to throw in something that may help others predictions. In my area (Oklahoma, obviously) it seems to me that majority of runners run less than 35 miles a week. I run about 40-50 and my teammates think I'm a mileage machine. Most of my teammates are 800 runners and ran MAYBE 15 miles a week this track season. During XC typically around 25. I remember when we were talking about the best runner in OK and someone mentioned he runs like 60 miles a week everyone was blown away. This probably isn't that relevant but I imagine many other states around Oklahoma are probably similar.

I predicted, twenty percent at under 10mpw, then 15% between 10 and 20mpw , then 35 percent twenty to fourty mpw, then 15% 45-60 then 13% 60-76 THEN 2% over 75 mpw
There is no way 20% run 75 mpw 20% run atleast 30 mpw
I'd say 5% run 75 or higher. 75 is a pretty good amount when you're in high school and most wouldn't do that/would try but get injured because they're not doing it correctly. It's a pretty big commitment for most.
