No brainer as Providence was s New Balance school and she will remain on the east coast. Wishing her the best of luck.

This is a great pickup for New Balance. Their growing stable of talent is mighty impressive, all of their athletes seem to love them and feel treated with respect and they actually do a decent job at marketingthem (decent, not great). She's a perfect training partner for Molly Huddle (who she'll start training with full time now) and vice versa.

I am not sure if this matters, but Huddle is Saucony right? Are there cross breed sponsorship training groups out there?

FWIW, I agree they'd thrive off one another.

Molly Huddle does a lot of her training with Kim Smith, who is a Reebok athlete, so I don't think that crossing brands is an issue.

Kim just had a baby in early June, but I'm sure that she'll be back in the mix soon.

Kim has been a New Balance athlete for a few years now.

That's right. I forgot that Reebok largely pulled the plug on sponsorships after they were purchased by Adidas. Thanks for the reminder.

Reebok is all about crossfit now.

Molly also does lots of her training with Amy Cragg (former Hastings) who is a Brooks athlete. Its not really a group, more so a group of runners who just all train under Ray and meet up for runs/workouts.

You guys made a big mistake signing Tyson Gay. Not the best PR move.

PC's Treacy has a knack for bringing his runners to a peak at the right time. Mary Cullen won the NCAA 5k in 2006, and of course, his brother had some success under his tutelage.

Providence may not be as hip as Nike's NOP and Portland, but I'm sure the athletes are digging it.

NB continues to support athletes that appeal to a wide range of runners who in turn will buy their products. Kim Conley is an example.

New Balance seems to sponsor several top US females but who do they sponsor on the men's side of the equation?

not only do they have an exceptional group of athletes but they have a very good looking one too
