I'm a 44 year old male runner with a 10k pb of ~37:10 minutes.
This year I haven't been able to do intervals at a decent clip.
I've had a blood test and the doctor has told me I am short of iron(9.1umol/l) and low ferritin(24ug/l).
I've been given iron tablets and I'm told it will take 6-8 weeks to build up my iron levels.
(I've had this problem before.)
While my iron levels are low I know I am not going to get faster. Am I going to do myself much harm by continuing with my regular volume of training?
