Personally, I find it disgusting that one athlete commands so much while other athletes suffer financially.

He’ll hardly miss it, he is reported to earn £2.5 million a year from sponsorship from Nike and Virgin Media.

He also appears in adverts for Quorn foods in the UK - Quorn, a vegetarian substitute for meat that tastes like sawdust.

It was also reported he got £250,000 for running halfway in the 2014 London marathon.

He should have rested up and done the race and donated this money that he obviously doesn't need to charity.

I think most people would feel invigorated if someone offered over 100 grand to run less than a mile.

That was because he wasn't running his easy runs fast enough. Once they fixed that, everything came together.

This is way they should make track and field amateur again. The sport needs more Yuki Kawauchis and Amy Bersagels, not weird training groups with oxygen houses, cryosaunas, and all sorts of hormone treatments.

Maybe he was getting cold feet that he won't past the drug test w/o Salazar holding his hands.

Shows how serious these allegations are if he's willing to forego $115k. Everyone is debating whether they would have run or not, but I think you have factor in you'd reportedly get paid $115,000 if you run.

I am certain he gave up more than that, I think the amount you are quoting is just his appearance fee. It's a shame he didn't run because half of the tickets were sold on Mo's appearance.

Those tickets will be non-refundable. Mo likely got paid to merely agree to be put on the bill. If Mo no-shows Mo get money. If Mo shows Mo gets more money. If Mo does well Mo gets even more money. The whole Mo PR shows has become a joke.

Err, yes, we know (don't just "think") it's just his appearance fee, and there would be finish place money, but thanks for stating the obvious.
