um, that press release leaves the door WIDE open for a summary firing - it never says that Nike believes rupp and alberto

Those statements were not written by the Nike legal team. Read them again. They repeat themselves. The statements were written an attorney who either wasn't smart enough to write two completely different statements, or that wrote one for Salazar, and then Salazar rewrote a version for Rupp. Salazar has already lawyered up. He is not layering up with a Nike attorney.
That's because Nike is about to f*ck them both in the a*s.

It would be interesting to see Nike sue LR, win big time, and likewise anyone else worth suing.

I also see that both the Halls are sorta/kinda backing these allegations. Interesting since the careers of both have peaked and it's only downhill from here for both of them-both Christians BTW.

Sounds like it was written by a lawyer to give as much wiggle room as possible, depending on future developments.

This is Nike's way out. This means a zero-tolerance level. Salazar and Rupp and Farah have already stated they are not exactly at a zero levels. They try things in the gray zone, and the intent is to enhance performance. WADA has been closing the door on gray-zone--spirit of sport, and possible (not absolute) health risks to athletes.
Nike said it still stands behind Lance Armstrong, who announced late Thursday not to fight charges from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that the cyclist used performance-enhancing drugs.
Nike, which has deep ties with Armstrong as a sponsor and supports Armstrong's Lance Armstrong Foundation, declared its support of the cyclist in a statement which reads in part: "Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Just the fact that Nike has a medical lab on their campus puts them in a quandary. How can they explain why a company that makes and sells athletic wear has a medical lab? They've got some splainin to do.
