An excerpt from the LR report of the Doha 3000 caught my attention. Something about Mo Farah's classic "control from the front strategy".
Would someone explain how this works and what distances are most appropriate for such a strategy.
Also, what type of runner do you need to be to employ such tactics,

Controlling from the front is the best strategy when you are the strongest runner AND have a vicious kick. The only way Mo can (could) lose is if he paces himself badly or if he is blocked or tripped. If he's in the front and doesn't push the pace too hard no one can beat him. Back in the day the Kenyans did the same thing, but as a team. Steve Ovett didn't, and Tom Myers taught him a lesson.
