My 800m Pr is 2:47 right now. Is it possible to get that down to 2:30 in a year?
When I ran that I was running 15-19 mpw for a few weeks but I'm tired of being slow and I'm going to train more seriously starting now.

If you'd only been running for a few weeks then of course
Yes. Run more miles. Skip speed training for a few weeks and gradually increase your mileage. Long run should build up to 2 hours, second longest to 90 minutes, other runs should be at an easy pace. Once you can run 35-40 mpw on a regular basis you can start adding in some workouts.

You are clueless.
It depends what type of runner you are. If you're the distance runner moving down to 400 increase mileage but if you're the 400 moving up i would work getting my 400 faster. Do time trials of 600m with short recover than a fast 200m. Quality intervals with short recover will help.. good luck!
