plantar fasciitis Skechers

I had severe plantar fasciitis for a year, and Skechers work for me as well. I do most of the daily running in the Rides too. I think the greater flexibility and wider feet really help. I've tried other shoes in the Performance line, but the Rides work the best for my gait. Great to hear they're working for someone else!

I've been alternating between the Skechers Sprint, Ride 3 and Nike Free for the last year. The Ride 3 seems a little more cushioned than the others, but the Sprint is the best shoe I've ever run in (40 years). Saucony made a shoe called the Taya about 15 years ago that was a lot like the Sprint.

Of course Skechers has discontinued the Sprint.

Skechers....light, flexible and soft. No unnecessary gimmicks.

I'm not an employee, but I liked their shoes so much I bought stock for the first time in my life. Now a Kapitalist!

GoRun Ultras helped me cure my PF last year. Very soft shoe and maximal cushioning work well on hard surfaces.

Other shoes in my quiver right now are the HOKA Challenger ATR which has a slightly firmer sole than the GR Ultras, NB 890V4 which is a lighter shoe nice for tempo runs, but my favorite right now is the Boston Boost 5. Great responsiveness and fit with that shoe.

The GR Ultras are great for recovery runs and longer distances. Softness isn't that great for speed.

I was plagued with PF for almost a year then discovered by accident that it got a little better after I walked barefoot on sand. Then I tried running barefoot on sand and it got much better. After a month of that I thought I needed for my feet to be able to go through their normal range of motion so I switched to a pair of Skechers GoRuns (that I'd bought on a whim and hadn't run in yet) because they had really flexible soles, unlike the trainers I'd been wearing. Total recovery! That was three years ago and no relapse.

I don't think it's some kind of Skechers magic - I've worn Nike Frees and Brooks Drifts since then also - I think it's having soles that are completely flexible (plus maybe no hard heel counter). I have a feeling PF has different causes (and cures) for different people but it's worth trying Skechers-type shoes if you're struggling.
