Marc Hunter – A 1974 graduate of Brunswick HS and a 1979 graduate of Cleveland State University, Marc
was the 1973 and 1974 Ohio High School DI State Mile Champion, 1973 DI State Champion in Cross Country,
1972 State Runner up in Cross Country. Marc was the 1st American finisher (4th overall) in the 1977 NCAA
Division I Collegiate Cross Country Championships. He was a two time Division I Collegiate Cross Country All-
American. Marc qualified for the 1980 Olympic Trials in the 5000m run and the 10,000m run. He competed in
the 5k in the 1980 Olympic Trials. He earned All-American in Indoor Track Honors in 1978 (3 mile run) and was
a member of three US teams: Cross Country World Championship Team in 1978 & 1979 and the Pan-Pacific US
Track Team in 1980. In 1978 Marc was the 17th ranked cross country runner in the world. Marc is the current
All-Ohio Collegiate Record Holder in the 5000m run (outdoors), 2 mile run (outdoors) and the 3 mile run (indoors)
as well as the current holder of the Collegiate All Ohio Meet course record at Ohio Wesleyan set in 1977. He
holds the 1500m, 5k, 10k records at Cleveland State and was a member of the US Record setting 4xMile Relay
team run in New Zealand in 1981 competing for Athletics West. Marc was one of 10 athletes selected for the
original Athletics West Olympic Development Team in 1980. Marc holds High School PRs - 440: 49.8, 880: 1:56,
Mile 4:14, 2 mile 9:36 College PRs - 800: 1:52, 1500: 3:45, Mile 4:01, 2 mile: 8:38, 5,000: 13:36, 10,000: 28:40.
