Here's an actual fight, not what we saw on May 2. But as tough as both of these guys were, I doubt they could beat Mayweather because he's a dancer, not a fighter.
they both beat Mayweather, they're too big for him. Leonard/Duran do to.

Agree with everything else, but that's a weird comment. Oscar did MUCH better against Floyd than he did against Pac. It wasn't even a fight when Pac cleaned his clock.
You've never fought I can tell just by the delusional way you write. Mayweather hurt Pacman several times he even tried to ko him in the 11th. There was a reason Manny wasn't coming forward it's b/c there was heat. If somebody pitter-patters you'll walk right through it. Did you even watch the Algieri fight? That's a runner with nothing on his punches and Pacman walked right through all his right hands and knocked him down over and over again. So why didn't Manny come in on Floyd who stood there right in front of him with his hands down it's b/c those shots were hurting him. If they weren't he would've walked through him like he did Algieri. You seemed to forget the parts of the fight where Manny moved backwards. Re-watch and see how many times Mayweather stands in front of him toe to toe hands down and makes him miss or backs him up. Controlling range isn't running. Do you even understand basic boxing footwork? The first defense you learn is how to step back and make the other guy hit air.

Lose the head lose the bout as Hearns found out in your above clip
It's boxing not fighting and Hagler met his match with one of your 'dancers'

I'm not sure you understand me. I'm comparing Oscar's fight against Mayweather (2007, I believe) with Manny's fight against Mayweather. I'm saying that by the time that earlier fight was over, Oscar looked beaten up. By contrast, by the time last Saturday's fight was over, Manny did NOT look beaten up. (And that's because, as another poster has written, he "felt the heat" from Mayweather and was a smart enough boxer to stay back just a little and not let Mayweather seriously tag him--at least not very often.)

I'd have to watch that fight again. My recollection is that Oscar fared well for half the fight, or so, and it was a closer fight. It's a shame, imo, that Manny and/or Floyd never faced Oscar at his best. And a real shame this fight the other night didn't happen 5 years ago.
I think what you're saying is what has a lot of people down on this fight .. neither of the guys looked, at the end of 12 rounds, like they'd really been in much of a fight. Floyd clearly won it, and he's a masterful boxer, but it's kinda like watching a 14min 5k with a 51 sec last lap - without the last lap. :)
Both fighters suffered from the skill of the other fighter, which resulted in a fight that was not fun to watch. Although, I think it was more frustrating for Pacquaio. Pacquaio was hit with a few good punches and was backed up on occasion, but the major reason for his ineffectiveness was Mayweather's defensive skill combined with his height and reach advantage. I also agree that Mayweather wanted (on occasion) to do something decisive against Pacquiao, but he couldn't. Pacquaio's best defense is his offensive skill and punching power. In the end, Mayweather's defensive style won the day, as every odd's maker in Vegas said it would. I'm not sure why people are surprised when the fight unfolded as predicted. People bought a $100 lottery ticket hoping someone, mostly Mayweather, would make a mistake. He didn't.
these are middle weights... if this was 15 rounds like the fights used to be we would have had a better fight... in those last rounds the figthers usually get exposed...
that being said, Mayweather, probably would hav beaten pac real bad... hes in far superior shape and he controlled the fight... when they were against teh ropes its because mayweather moved that direction and drew pac in... when he felt like moving him back to the center he did so...
pac is a volume puncher who couldnt even get his punches off and he was still worn out...
just look at the first round when Mayweather played the agressor... it looked like a world champion against an amateur... Pac was WAY over his head..
anybody who put money on Pac... sorry, the media fooled u pretty bad... boxing fans knew this would be the outcome of this fight five years ago.
You're right. I knew exactly how the fight would go, but I still bought it hoping for an actual fight. Right up to the last hour before the fight, I was still thinking about not watching it because I knew it would probably go exactly as it did. I guess I thought that Mayweather, wanting to prove he was the better fighter would do more than run around and occasionally throw a nice jab. I guess I thought that Pacquiao would take more risks and get inside well enough to overwhelm the taller, longer Mayweather. Lennox Lewis said it best: "You can't hit what you can't catch." And except for the one time when he actually hurt Mayweather, Pacquiao didn't seem to have the energy to chase the runner. Mayweather, although a boring fighter, is a total master at running, making the other guy chase him, and then when the other guy is off balance and coming forward, zipping that jab out just enough to stop the pursuit. And when that fails, he grabs on and won't let go until the ref breaks it apart. No one can argue with the results. Mayweather is a great boxer, but not a great fighter. Pacquiao's reputation has always been great fighter and not-so-great boxer. But this WAS boxing, not UFC, so those of us stupid enough to have expected or hoped for an actual fight rather than a one-sided track meet now feel like fools..
