My coach said that according to CIAC regulations one is not permitted to do road races during the season. During cross country your entire team can get DQ'd for the rest of the season and during track you can be DQ'd for the rest of the season (could be totally wrong). Is this because if you win prize money you are considered professional? You don't get prize money in small local road races but I'm still not allowed to do those.
