Nick Symmonds BLACKBALLED from Pre Classic 800

Was he even trying to get into the meet? I haven't seen him race outdoors since 2013... If he would have a current SB of 1:44 or better I would say he's been blackballed, but currently he's not any faster than I am outdoors. I don't feel blackblaled.

What has Symmonds run recently to indicate he would be competitive in that field. Hell Weating has been running better than Symmonds lately.

You don't have to be competitive to be worthy.

Just a good name to draw attention.

Nick Symmonds is a great name to add to the meet if he wants to run.

Nick has transitioned to the 1500m for the 2016 Olympic Trials.

Well, 4 Americans in women's 800, 6 in the 5000, 3 in the men's steeple, so it's pretty clear that as usual they're getting about as many Americans into each field is reasonable for a DL meet.

I follow him on instagram. He's somewhere around 165 lbs at I think 5'10, which is enormous compared to most of the top 1500 guys right now. Seriously 20-30 lbs too heavy, but I still have faith that he'll do decent. Dude's been training in flagstaff for a while now, so that'll probably help a bit

It doesn't matter. He could be 300lbs and it would not change his performance. Never mind that the very best 1500M performers of all time consistently file into the 5'8-5'9" 130lbs profile...

A man could be built like "Jabba The Hutt," makes no difference in the 1500.

Symmonds will not make another World team. He should have never left his coach Mark Rowland.

He still has a lot of training to do to qualify for this year's Beer Mile.
