I'm looking into buying a pair of jump training shoes. They're designed with a platform that sits on the sole below the bottom of your feet, and their touted as the best training shoes, and they build explosiveness in your calves. Anyone have experience with these shoes?

Jimmy loves those shoes. Just remember that I got mistaken for a 'tard by Mel Torme while wearing them.
I had a pair until they got so old they fell apart. Yes, they work, but they're not better than box jumps, split jumps, drops, etc that you do as part of plyometrics.
The only advantage of the shoe is that you can wear them around the house all day.
