If Oregon is entering their A team we will be talking about second place
Anyone who can push them?
Who's in the mix for top 3?
Who's gonna run the 1200 & 800 for the Ducks?
I just want one of those friggin hats the officials get to wear.

If you saw the Ducks race there last you, you'd remember that it won't matter - Cheserek will just turn the turbo on with 300m to go and just take the win. Kinda not exciting in my opinion.
I hear the collegiate entries will be released next week.
As for the hats - volunteer and you'll get something like it.

Sure the Ducks are by far the clear favorite especially with Ches on the anchor but anything can happen, especially in a crowded DMR. All it takes is one bad leg, a fall, dropped baton, etc and they are out of it.
Georgetown should have an excellent team, they've got several sub 4 and 1:47 type guys and should make a great run at the title. PSU with creese and kidder is always dangerous as well.

Oregon doesn't enter its A team, falls or drops the baton send it gets kicked into the the Schuykill River and they lose. Otherwise they are unbeatable. My guess is they run Cheserek on the 1200 like at the. MPSF and put everyone out misery early. Jenkins would then anchor.
This will not have the drama of the NCAA indoor DMR where you could at least wonder whether a sub 4 minute mile heat a few hours earlier took something out of his legs.
Don't see anybody but chez on the anchor. Johnny G on the 1200.

Thinking Jordy could give Chez a fight on the anchor if Nova can keep it close.
Jordy ran 3:54.xx in Indoor Nats unfortunately he had to chase too hard to get near the front .
It looks like he is in that kind of shape at least running 3:39.5x winning this past Friday night, plus he has run 1:46.x before from scratch.
I was thinking for a brief moment that Oregon would dare to use Ches on 12 and Jenkins on anchor as surely he can run 3:36 for 1600 , but then I came to my senses and thought there is no way you would have a weapon like Ches on anchor and not fire it. and what a luxury to have Jenkins available fresh for 4 x mile.
4 x mile could also be a classic if they all go out and run.
Nova had 6 guys at 3:45 or better for 1500 the other night.
PSU will certainly be on this as well bookending Creese and Kidder, not sure who they would anchor. But I think it matters not who runs 1200 as that never seems to go fast anymore at Penn, not real fast anyway.
PSU will shat the bed.
How about Georgetown?
Oregon will run Ches and Jenkins for sure. Behind those two, I'd imagine they will run 1:46 Franzmair in the 800 and then maybe Chambers or Geohegan.
I think they are unbeatable, even with the kind of bad first leg that they had at the Indoor Championship, and still won easily. Someone here posted that they have 10 guys with 4:00 or better miles or equivalent at 1500. They have locked in with outstanding middle and distance runners.
Wouldn't rule out Johnny G on the 1,200 for the Ducks --- should be good for 2:50 or 2:51.Would be nice to see ... I understand his Dad is finally being recognized / inducted in the Penn Relays HOF --- long over due considering both his HS and College performances there.

So what's the deal? Anyone have the skinny on who is running for whom? How about some LR expert predictions from the gallery? 15 hours till Blast Off.

Nope. Not unless Jordy has a few seconds lead going into the anchor.
I do not think Jordy would have needed a few seconds this year, he still may not have won,, but he is good enough to race him fairly evenly and competitively but 2-3 seconds probably would not matter as Ches would just run to make contact anyway and leader will have probably slowed down, not taken it out aggressively and then the race is on.
Today, I could see multiple teams in this late. For a couple of reasons, one being it is cold and windy and the other is I doubt anyone is going to do the monster work it would take to get away, even if one team did, I doubt they are going to bust in into the wind on 1600 leg.

By your definition I agree. Jordy could make Cheserek run competitively. He could not, however, be a threat to beat him.
