In high school I was a 4:39 1600m runner and a 17:02 5k runner
My freshman year I was a :53 400m running a 4:20 1500m runner and a 28:20 5k runner
My sophomore year I was a 4:20 1500m runner up until the last race where I ran a 4:13 closing the last 800 in 2:05 which makes sense since I was burnt out most of the year running a 28:13 8k and a :51 high 400m
After my sophomore year I transferred out of of my Junior college I opened up in a 5k running a 15:53 and then finished my year of xc with a best 8k of 25:27, I was obviously having a good season and had high expectations of the winter(my first winter season since high school since my Jco didn't have it)
I was a little tired going into it and wasn't sure what to run so my training was a little jumbled and ended up running a 2:02 best in the 800 and a 9:21 best 3k after running the mile
Now that it's spring season and I have my focus of an 800 my training has been a bit better but my last race didn't please me.
I ran a 400m in 52 the night before my 1500 and granted the day of the 1500 there were 30mph winds and I was a little heavy in the legs I ran a 4:18, I was able to close hard catching a bunch of people but the time is not where I want it do be.
My most recent workout was 4x400 with a 400m walk in between running 59,59, 58, 57 followed by even faster 200s with a 200m walk off the watch.
I'm running the 800 next weekend and want to do really well but I just don't seem to be having the season like I did in xc even though there were major improvements
