Why is this awesome? Well many people don't realize both Floyd Landis and the US govt still have an ongoing $100 million fraud case against Lance Armstrong in relation to the USPS sponsorship.
Armstrong's long time business partner and agent both tried to get out of that lawsuit themselves (they were named in it by Landis not the govt) by simply paying Landis $600,000.
The govt wants their cooperation in the case against Armstrong so they asked the judge not to sign off on the agreement.
If agents start realizing they could be on the hook for doping, the sport will get cleaned up real quick. In our mind, agents and sponsors (shoe companies in running) looking the other way at doping has been a huge problem.
We only wish the feds had actually included the agent and business partner in the lawsuit like Landis. It seems most likely to us that they were likely complicit in the fraud themselves.
