The latest athlete to fail doping test has won two major marathon races in the past one year.
I expect letsrun's sleuths to find out who this is.
I wasn't sure if writer intended "major marathons" or "Major Marathons"...if it's the latter, it's pretty easy to figure out
from a prominent stable with numerous positive doping tests and "fairly famous"
Two major marathon wins in the last year:
Kipsang and Kipchoge
I wouldn't describe either as "fairly famous" though.

I got a text from a fairly reliable source that it's actually Matthew Centrowitz.
Kipsang and Kimmetto are obviously doping.
Jr. Or Sr.?
Here are your candidates, if the reporter meant Major as in WMMs:
1 2:02:57 Dennis Kimetto KEN 22.04.84 1 Berlin 28.09.2014
5 2:03:23 Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich KEN 15.03.82 1 Berlin 29.09.2013
8 2:03:45 Dennis Kimetto KEN 22.04.84 1 Chicago 13.10.2013
12 2:04:11 Eliud Kipchoge KEN 05.11.84 1 Chicago 12.10.2014
20 2:04:29 Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich KEN 15.03.82 1 London 13.04.2014
46 2:05:00 Eliud Kipchoge KEN 05.11.84 1 Rotterdam 13.04.2014
73 2:05:30 Eliud Kipchoge KEN 05.11.84 1 Hamburg 21.04.2013
The requirements are: past one year so late 2013 to now. Kenyan, 1st in two major marathons or WMMs.
2:02:57 Dennis Kimetto KEN 22.04.84 Berlin 2014
2:03:23 Wilson Kipsang KEN 15.03.82 Berlin 2013
2:04:11 Eliud Kipchoge KEN 05.11.84 Chicago 2014

They didn't say male and if anything I would bet on another female.
Good point, but the odds are that it is a man, as the only other candidate that is also a woman is Mary Keitany, as number one, Rita Jeptoo has already been caught of course....unless I am missing something, but the depth in the women's appears to be Ethiopia....

The article also says that the athlete "belongs to a stable that is under scrutiny after many of its athletes failed doping tests."
Kipchoge is managed by Jos Hermens. KIpsang and Kimetto are managed by Gerard van de Veen (Global Communications).
I haven't noticed Hermans being associated with any failed tests. As for van de Veen, he did have Lilian Jelagat busted in late 2013 but I hadn't noticed any others recently.
Could be "major marathons" lower case not "the Majors". And, as noted, could be female,
Very good points.
Bit of a discussion going on here about it:
I would say it's a female kenyan runner as the photo in the article shows a group of female kenyan distance runners and women are more easily persuaded into doing illegal things and cheating. Like many women have cheated on me
I for one am glad they don't give name of athlete. What important now is situation gets taken care of, measurements taken, etc so is clear that AK is cleaning up. This is probably just a case of athlete trusting wrong person, so nothing to see here.

These pages not only tell you the athletes time but what place they finished
How about Flomena Cheyech Daniel?
Commonwealth Games title and win in Paris (presuming that major marathon rather than Major Marathon was intentional). Commonwealth Games title would make her fairly famous in Kenya at least, but she is not one of the super big names (Kiplagat/Kiplagat/Keitany).
Nothing to go on other than that.
The article is poorly written, there is no way you can win to Majors and be "fairly known in Kenya". The doper is a she with 67.3...half
