Is it better to have a running flat for training that is stiff or one that bends and lets your foot move more?

I like to be able to bend my shoe in half. Of course I had to work down through stiffer flats to get to that point.
can you bend your foot in half? i hope not. therefore when you're looking at stiffness you really want to look at the toe area, how much power (stiffness) do you want the shoe to provide, and how much can you twist the show along its long axis. for sprinters going around a corner, you'll want some twisting, but if you are on a straightaway, any twist the shoe allows is just wasted energy. As for distance, a really stiff shoe will most likely be detrimental to a usual distance runner's form, but how stiff it actually is is up to you

I want the shoe to interfere with my natural biomechanics and footstrike as little as possible. The thinner and more flexible it is, the less it will alter my form.
