French doper Hassan Hirt (13'10 in 2012 Paris Golden League - out in heats in London - caught for EPO within days) whose suspension recently came to an end, tried to force himself in the field of the French National Cross-Country Championships yesterday without a race number, not even officially registered with a Club, and of course (obviously) not having qualified for the event.
Officials tried to stop him competing before the race but the still managed to take the start - after approx 1 lap, an official came on the course and violently tackled him to the ground to remove him from the race. Hirt left the scene on a stretcher & apparently went to the hospital.
It was not Hirts first taste at drama, as the French athlete always claimed his innocence despite positive drug test, proclaiming a conspiracy of the french athletic body against him.
No doubt a judiciary saga will follow...
