The men's mile is in 15 minutes. Day 2 whould be spectacular. We're pumped for nearly everything. The men's mile is arguably the best event in the whole meet.
But then you get the 600s - Sratling verus Sowinski and Loxsom, Montano versus Wilson.,
The 1ks have my boy Robby Andrews against his former NY / NJ teammates plus Thomas MF Scott.
And Rowbury's coronation in the 2mile.
What are you most excited about? ANd who wins this mile?

I'm most excited about watching my boy Centro destroy Leo in the mile.YOu heard it here first.
-
The milers are on the track. People shouldn't forget Lopez. He's here.
The crowd is much bigger than yesterday which makes sense as this is pretty much nonstop finals.
53% of the LRC nation has picked Centro FTW, just 6% for Leo and Casey. Lopez is getting 14% backing.

If it's slow, which it will be, Leo will win if he's in position.
-
In case you missed it. Dathan Ritzenhein was hammering sub 5 on the streets of Boston this morning https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/572052710142451713

In terms of pre-race applause, we always claim we are going to bring a sound meter to compare the pre-race applause.
WE didn't need one tonight. Leo got by far the most. Then probabaly Centro and Lopez. I'd like to compre Centro to Leo. Centro didn't get nearly as much as I thought. -
This mie is awesome. Lots of movement. 207.91 at half.
Lopez in great spot, so is centor, blankenship and manzano. although manzano is a little boxed now and geting pucshed back. -
Centro easily.
-
Ben Blankenship move after move in a big field... You know who wanted it the most especially after his comments post-2 mile. Favorite runner to watch this indoors
-
Centro's tactics are phenomenal. No matter what happens he puts himself in the perfect spot.
I don't think anyone was beating him today but Centro managed to get the lead with 400 to go. With 600 to go it looked like he might get boxed. It is very hard to pass indoors. -
Centro's got the swagger of a champion. It's just TOO DAMN EASY for him. Heart goes out to Blankenship though, who leaves with two silver medals, but no titles.
Centro: 4:01
Blankenship: 4:02
Casey: 4:02 -
Centro on another level than the rest of the field. totally in control of the race, impressive.
-
I always look forward to Centros celebration across the line. Didn't disappoint today.
The man knows how to talk to the media too, though he didn't really acknowledge the rest of the competitors (and I guess they didn't him) -

Maybe you're talking about before or after the race, but he acknowledged them post-race.
Ato Boldon asked Centro if he was surprised how easy that win was. Centro said, "A little bit. This field was obviously was very deep." and then noted how it had the best milers and two milers. If he wanted to not acknowledge his competitors he could have said, "I expected to win that easily."
Centro turned his thoughts to World gold telling Ato, "I've been healthy and had a great outdoor season. I'm definitely looking forward to upgrading to a gold medal.

I really feel like "Poor Benny B." He DID want it the most, and he actually made some moves to accomplish that. I wonder if he had any ideas on how to try to win this race, especially coming back on a double. Knowing that Centro is fit and the class of the field, did he have any chance/method to try and beat him? Past experience and Centro's skills says tactical was not the way, but again, how would Ben come back from last night and push the pace, and then hope to win?
I also noticed how no one acknowledged Centro, and it kind of appeared like he was glancing for some eye contact and got none. Know it alls around here assume the others hate him for being NOP? -
I hope somebody gives Jen Suhr some love for pulling herself together. I don't know if it was a wise decision to force forward an interview with an obviously emotional and downright distraught athlete, but after the moment where it appeared she was going to run away, she collected herself and responded well considering. I've always liked her.

3rd placer Pat Casey was pretty funny after this one. He thought he ran a good tactical race. He said something along the lines, "If I could change anything, it would be just be a better runner."

4th placer Matt Casey thinks being a full-time running (he quite his teaching job for 2 years) is really paying off. He was happy to beat 2 Olympians and said that while he hates losing, if he was going to lose today, he lost to 3 very good guys.

Casey off camera revealed that he's the answer to the thread "Which elites post on LRC". He said he's on here every day and that he loves the website. -
Yep, I was referring to the customary high fives and rump patting but I've seen plenty of American races end the same way. The competitors just ignore each other right after crossing
-
Montano's baby tripped Ajee Wilson. What a bunch of crap. A 6 month old on the back stretch.
-
Wilson faceplanted AND got stepped on...that replay looked bad.
