A the end of this interview why is she talking crap? Her whole demeanor is changing, I wonder if it is because of the company she is keeping nowadays (NOP), she use to be a sweet girl.

100% agree. Used to be a fan, but no more. Listen to her post race interview wth Ato Boldon:
Starts at the 5:50 mark, but what I'm talking about is at 6:20.
You really should watch, because so much is in her tone and body language, but she says, "I was surprised the girls didn't want to let me go with 600 to go. Good for them for fighting, but I knew I could do it for 3 laps and I didn't think they could."
I'm know a big part of being a "champion" is having confidence and believing you're the best and all that, but damn she needs a filter between her big ego and the crap coming out of her mouth. Show some humility.
When she went to Salazar I was really disappointed, but I was such a fan I said I'd still root for her. But after that crap with Molly Huddle in the 5K at USAs last year and more of this, I just can't.
Jenny for President.
Just watched both and completely missed the talking crap part.
Whoah, okay, with the video you posted what she said was kinda arrogant, she basically said " I'm surprised they were still around at the bell, I know Im in good shape, and I was pretty sure they were not. They should have just let me run away with it." plus she walks and talks in a really cocky way now. Is the Nike Sports psychologist philosophy, "think you are vastly superior and you will be" ??
Actually after watching the video closely, Uceny blocked the lanes a LOT! She didn't want to Let Rowbury or Mackey pass, that may have been what Shannon was angry about.
Possible, Uceny definitely forced her to go wide (like Rowbury can talk with the crap she's pulled), but Rowbury did say "girls" like referring to the field. She dropped 31s for the 3rd and 2nd to last laps and was surprised anyone went with her. But they were going so slow that race (73ish first 400, 2:26 800) did she really think she was the only who could close fast off of 5:52 pace? That's what it sounds like.
And she might think she's all that, but Mackey only lost by .43 and Rowbury was running hard; it wasn't like she jogged it in.
Speak of Uceny, wow she cratered. I did't realize she was still in 3rd with a lap to go. She was last with a 33.75 last lap.
small typo, as I'm sure you meant 4:52 pace. I was honestly surprised that Hasay wasn't closer. I know she's known for zero kick but I thought that was something salazar had been working on, especially since she's training with rowyourboat now, should have been closer, IMO. of course Mackey is no slouch, but still think she should ahve been 3rd at worst. Be interesting to see if Rowbury "lets" her win the 2mi.

This is so hypocritical
You criticize Rowbury for coming off as confident in this interview yet her tone and demeanor are no different than 90% of Simpson's interviews
I'm excited to see Rowbury full of confidence. She's talking smack with her legs and her mouth. Good for her!

No crap talk, just a bunch of freaking loser, haters posting on letsrun.
She's a confident world class athlete- that's it.

There's a difference between confidence and arrogance. Maybe it's a fine line, but she's been crossing it.
Extra testo will make you a bully. Thanks Nop!
You don't get it - a class act will be full of confidence but will never trash their competition. You say something like, "I was really happy with my race, I executed as planned, I felt great..." but then throw a compliment to the competition as well. Keep the focus on you and keep it positive. Rowbury is running great but I think Jenny will always have her number.
I love how U.S. runners like her get their heads blown up by racing other U.S. runners. Maybe if she raced some of the real world's best from Kenya or Ethiopia, she wouldn't be so cocky anymore.

I agree with this statement
Simpson does come across as arrogant in a lot of her interviews

Seriously? Did you listen to what she said? She threw a compliment to the competition ("Good for them for fighting") and she kept the focus on herself and kept it positive: "but I knew I could do it for 3 laps and I didn't think they could." Unless you mean "positive" in that she shouldn't use negative adverbs, this is a confident, positive assessment of her race.
There is nothing trashy in this response.
You think "Good for them for fighting" was a compliment? OK, it was what one would call a "left handed compliment." Like patting them on the head. "Nice try girls." "Good for them for trying to keep up with me but I knew it was a losing effort because there's no way they could touch me." I have a daughter and she listened to the interview. Girls are much more subtle in their digs than guys are and read more into words. My daughter said it was a crap thing to say.

She literally just said she was excited to race Jenny like 5 times. Apparently that's what LRC calls Talking Crap.
I have no opinion overall of Shannon one way or the other but saying "I am surprised they didn't let me go with 600 left" was a bitchy remark. It is like saying..."they all knew I was going to win so why didn't they just jog it and let me do my thing". Sad thing is her "thing" was slow and even though people "went with" her, it was a sorry as$ time so she needs to keep her attitude in check.
I need to get that sports psychologist for my team.
I was ready to jump on board with this, since I'm generally more of a Jenny fan than a Shannon fan, but then I watched the flotrack interview. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what she said. The interviewer asked her specifically about Jenny, and she gave an appropriate answer about being excited to race her (as well as other top women). What's wrong with that?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
