2015 USA Indoor Women: Mom Alysia Montaño returns, can she take down Ajee Wilson? Plus Shannon Rowbury doubles?

What is this supposed to say? Doesn't really make sense as written:

Ajee’s 400 pb is just 53.64, not much faster than what Wilson ran this year. Just because we think it would be a great story. We’ll go with Wilson. She should be rewarded for even coming to these champs.

Interesting but no surprising that Cain (2 time defending champion in the miler/1500) is a no-show, and that her absence is not mentioned in LRC.

Ajee ran a 54x and split 53x a couple of times back in H.S. She has not gotten much faster speedwise and is probably a solid a solid a 53x quarter miler. Ajee 400m credentials are just average for a world class 800m runner. I would much rather see her run the 1000 at USATF, which she would likely win. Alysia is a legit 400m sprinter and if she is in decent shape, will smoke Ajee in the 600m. Ajee does not like racing overdistance, but she is actually more of a 800/1500 type.

Btw, Ajee ran a 4:49 indoor mile as a H.S. junior and was a pretty good cross country runner until she quit doing it.

Agreed - it's atrocious writing and proofreading. Presumably it was intended to say:

Ajees 400 pb is just 53.64, not much faster than what Montano ran this year [Montano's sole race, a 53.86s 400m]. Just because we think it would be a great story. Well go with Montano. She should be rewarded for even coming to these champs.

You need to get another phrase. You use "Take down" in almost every piece you write.
