My friends came up with an interesting question today... If each US state put together an all-time best DMR, using anyone who was born and raised there (not where they attended college, unless it's the same), which state would win? (assuming each leg is in their prime)
well texas has the pick of the litter for 400m runners though I know that's pretty insignificant in a DMR since that's what I ran in college. Does Manzano count for Texas?
Cali's got steve Scott and Duane Solomon. So that's a pretty great start
You can go by the all-time lists of 400,800, and mile and rank all states. Then you have to pick a 1200 leg.
California would have Lee Evans at 43.8, Johnny Gray at 1:42 and Steve Scott at 3:47.
They would just need a 2:53 1200 to beat any state.

Ohio Has Butch Reynolds at 43.3, Dave Wottle at 1:44.3, and Tom Byers at 3:50.8 for the mile. Throw in either 3:34 1500 runners Rob Myers and Cory Leslie for the 1200 and they are worthy of mention for top 3.
