what were the splits? I'm assuming it was tactical
He stumbled like that and still ran a 59 last 400? DAYUM.
60.5, 2:03, 3:07...something like that.
He probably would of won if he didn't get tripped up.
Sub 4 mile here we come!
The winner only ran 4:05. Fisher looked like a sputtering car in that race. Obviously, he is very inexperienced indoors ,but he needs to take charge in a race like this and LEAD. He loves sitting and got in trouble today.
His next race will be 4:03 again.
Jeezus H. Christ, it was bad enough at a high school meet that old muther Hubbard gave Fisher a 5 minute intro cataloging everything from his soph year but he continued the love Fest at a college meet?
All that did was bring pressure on the lad. The love affair Hub and Hollo have with the kid is getting creepy
I stopped going to the Frankenmuth Volkslauffe races because I got tired of him going on and on and on and making the awards ceremony take forever. This is nothing new.
lol that's not a stumble it was a push and GF was asking for it. He'll learn. What's the deal with his form? It's like he's afraid to swing his arms until he kicks.

What'd you expect?? 70 seconds? He stumbled- not fall down.

That is funny. He is still around??!
The winner here pulls away very easily and doesn't look close to all out. He might well run sub 4 this year. Fisher did fall way back when he was pushed and he certainly could have been at 4:05 here.
I've been saying the same thing for a long time. In fact the amount of geeky running form in this clip was absolutely terrible. Huge over striding heel strikers, weird arm swings etc. Many of these guys could benefit from changing their form to a smoother forefoot strike. Fisher looks like he's trying to emulate Ryan Hall but his form looks completely awkward and unconventional.
Maybe that's what "works for him" but I for one don't think anyone is as efficient unless they are running like the human body was made to do so.
Not saying these guys aren't fast, hardworking etc. Just could work on form.
GF actually stumbled twice. Near the beginning he stumbled first and then near the end. I think he really wasn't all the comfortable running in the pack.
4:04-high without those two stumbles I think.
sucks
Still failing to understand why a 4:06 high indoors and with a stumble still indicates a sub 4 for outdoor season...
I mean, yes, I expect him to improve, but this is not a sub 4 indicator performance, even w/ improvements... 4:06.72 to 3:59 is a huge jump, you guys know that...
Yes we know. The race is probably worth 4:05 if he doesn't screw up, but still that's nowhere close to sub-4. And the fact that he's running so hard so early is not necessarily good.

Yeah, it's not like Alan Webb improved from 3:59 to 3:53 from indoor to outdoor or anything....
