I know regularly it's not good to talk about relationship problems with other people, especially when you're married, but if things are pretty bad, it helps to have someone you can talk to about it. Who do you talk to? A close friend? A parent? Sibling? Does it help?

If you talked to your wife about it, you probably wouldn't be having marital problems.
Try to refrain from talking to parents and family about your spouse unless you do it tactfully. They can be very overprotective of you and if you slant the information against your spouse and make yourself clean, they can resent your spouse and it can be very hard for them to get over especially if the issues are really heavy. I think the best bet is a good friend who doesn't really know your spouse...maybe a long time friend who lives away from you. You just need to find someone you can trust. Everyone has different people from different situations they feel are good sounding boards. I use an old coworker who doesn't know my spouse. Although she is of the opposite sex which could spell trouble, she is about 20 years older and has kids not much younger than me.
I heard Suzy Favor Hamilton is good to talk to, but she charges $600 an hour.

If you are having issue, see a Marriage and Family Therapist. At some point, your spouse will be asked to attend and should be asked. You are not the keeper of accurate facts regarding the state of your relationship.
