So, coming up soon I have a conference race for Indoor Track at a facility that is 11 laps to a 1600, or 145.45 meters a lap, and was wondering how I should pace myself if I wanted to run under 4:34.4 (regional qualifying), or place 6th. As far as the time goal, how should I check my progress when hearing splits when at a place of that size? And then just as far as my race, what strategies would you recommend, and how should my approach/ running be changed by the track size?
Note: At this facility, use of spikes is prohibited (the implements, not the shoes)
