Yes, I think it is a very good running town. There are a bunch of trails that all branch off of a single main trail which runs the entire length of the metro area (from Monument to Security~45 miles or so). There are several great parks with lots of dirt trails (Garden of the Gods, Bear Creek park, Palmer Park, Ute Valley Park, etc.). There are miles upon miles of singletrack trails up in the mountains. These are about a 45 min run from downtown (on more dirt trails) or a 15 min drive. I could provide more specifics if you want them.
The town itself isn't bad...a couple colleges, not a bad downtown, but the military presence (Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Peterson Air Base, etc.) contribute to make it a very conservative city.
As for jobs...i really couldn't tell ya.
I came to Colorado Springs over 17 years ago, largely because of the running environment. Lots of good trails, long flat stretches as well as hills and mountains, pretty strong running community, excellent sportsmedicine community, pleasant weather throughout the year. Great for altitude training, with elevations at 6,000 feet and up. Track facilities may be a bit questionable; that's never been a big concern for me. The social scene for single people is probably not great, although I think that it's improved over the years. I sense that the job market is not real good right now, but I'm not really tuned into that.
colo springs is the shit if you utilize the trails. gotta be willing to drive about 20-30 mins and you can run a different bad ass trail every day.
Dude Springs is the hottest running place in the U.S. there are tons of places to train. The drive to a good trail system depends upon where you live. On average it takes about 15-20 min drive. It is well worth it though. But it is a hell of a place to run. Great community as well. Try Palmer Park, possibly the best place in cs

what is the chance of setting up a great massage business there in Cororado Springs?
im no expert but i have never had a problem finding a good massage, i think there are lots.
Why would you set up a message buisness..?...with computers and telephones I wouldnt think there is a market for that
I lived in the Springs for several months last year and as far as massage goes there is a real saturation of therapists there because CO is a state where there are tons of athletes and out doorsy people and therefore that type of place attracts massage therapy.Unless you are super talented and sucsessful it might be a tough place to come into and just start up, especially since its necessaryto build up clientel. As far as running, yes C Springs is decent as far as trails etc go but I have lived in other locations where I consider the training enviroment even better to include Albuquerque and Utah, but its all a matter of preference and taste when it comes to that kind of thing anyway.....

Colorado Springs is a medium sized city with a small town government. It's a decidedly conservative area. Variety of nightlife - nothing special.
There are tons of places to run and more are being developed all the time. I've haven't even scratched the surface of all the available trails in several years of running. The main running club, Pikes Peak Road Runners, puts on races year round - everything from 5K to marathon to cross country. There are at least a couple of running series - Grand Prix & Triple Crown - with good races. Trent Briney (4th at Olympic Trials) & Adam Goucher came from this area. Occasionally people from the Olympic Training Center will run in local races.
There are always jobs available. It just depends on what you're looking for and how much you need to be paid.
CS is a great place to run. It also has loads of mtn biking trails (kind of a hidden gem in the state). The running scene is kind of strange, but the trails are endless, and the weather is fabulous all year round (with a few snow days here and there). The social scene in the Springs is fairly lacking - not much culture, too much conservative impact, and a boring downtown. But with such great running, the fun comes from the easy access to the mtns and trails.
