I ran the NFL 5K today in Scottsdale and Webb won in a time of 15:06. Ironically enough if he doesn't show I place in my age group.

You had your chance. If you'd run faster, you would have placed in your age group.
Did he look relaxed?

You are absolutely correct but unfortunately I have a torn hamstring and can't train really right now except for slow distance. So yes I didn't earn it.
Webb looked very relaxed (it was an out and back), he won easily. It was a really flat and fast course with near perfect weather. Just surprised he'd show up to a small 5K with no prize $$

The fact that you attempted to race with a torn hamstring in January says it all.

I didn't attempt to race, I'm at the Super Bowl and wanted to run the NFL 5K for fun. I went a little faster than planned but that's because the leaders went fast and it threw off my perception of pacing. I've been doing slow distance and lots of PT for over a month now.
3..2..1..
Webb is back, baby!

If on a flat fast course in perfect weather all he can run is low 15's then he has no worry about what race he picks to jump into cause he is not going to win any prize money anyway

I doubt this was an all out, fully tapered, balls to the wall effort, but yeah, he's not going to win prize money anywhere, so he's probably just out there to enjoy a bit of competition. I think he could still run 14:30s or 40s given full effort and same conditions, but, why would it matter unless that was his goal?

The fact that you dedicated any amount of time giving training advice to a stranger who didn't ask for it says it all.
When did the Webb is Back Baby thing start? Does anyone have a link to the thread where this phrase was first used.

15:06???? Course must have been 6k.

Did he win or did he show? Make up your mind.

It was just a very fast course, an out and back along a mostly paved canal trail. Besides for the one turnaround point this course was arguably quicker than a track with endless straightaways.
Was he in trainers?

Wow, sad to see an athlete go from being a 3:46 miler to a high 14's runner in just a few years.
His times went from being world class -> barely notable for a collegiate.
Does anyone know the actual reason of why this happened?

The great mystery. I, too, would love to know the answer.
