I read this thread and my initial thought was parachutes for every passenger, not the entire plane itself (thats retarded). Just a parachute stuffed under every seat or in the overhead, and when the planes engines fail or someting happens in the air, everyone grabs their chute and are ushered out the side of the plane to safely deploy their parachute and not die in a tragic firey accident. Remember when that pilot had to land his plane full of passengers in the Hudson? that was bad@ss, but how much more convenient would it have been if everyone just parachuted out of their and just let the plane crash into some uninhabited area? Idk, just a thought.
Rehearse putting on a 30 pound parachute and insulated clothing while in an economy seat, using an oxygen mask and carrying a flotation device, before takeoff.
Try not to freeze to death or asphyxiate on your descent.
Do not parachute on takeoff or landing, or you won't have time to deploy the parachute.
Remember to loosen your harness and remove your chest strap before landing in water while holding a flotation device to avoid being dragged underwater by your parachute. Then swim to the nearest dinghy which in all probability landed miles away.
If you are landing on ground mentally rehearse the correct landing technique to avoid breaking every bone in your body.
Avoid rough weather.
Try not to land in the Arctic or Antarctic, deserts or any remote areas. Avoid power lines, large buildings and roads.
