I just got a picture message from my mother and about fell out of my chair:

I'm not sure which fact is the tipping point that Meb is now officially a celebrity - the fact that he is going to the game like a true celebrity or that my mom recognized him.
Meb Keflezighi is officially a celebrity. Attending Oregon-Ohio State NCAA championship game (with my mom) (pic)

Good to see momjo mixing it up with Meb and the boys. Reminds me of the summer of menjo. Knowing what we do now about kenya, is there any doubt he was doped to the gillsjo?
-
PS. I almost forgot. My mom said she timed Meb when he did 40 x 400 on the field before the players started to warmup. She says he averaged 62, looked relaxed and only took 45 seconds between reps.
Jerry Jones has given him permission to do a post-game workout as well. -
Was he allowed to go shirtless? And run clockwise?
-
What was the standard deviation of his splits?
-
Meb, in a classy move showing there's no bitterness for getting dropped by Knight/Nike, said he's rooting for Oregon as he used to train/race there.
Merhawi showed he's a great agent by saying he was going to choose his side at halftime.
I do have bad news to report. My mom's friend is the one who recognized Meb, not my mom. At least when my wife walked in from work and saw me posting the pic she said, "Hey I recognize that guy on the left with your mom." -
Impressive the momjo gets to the big game, AND she gets to meet Meb. She has absolutely outdone wejo and rojo. The boys will have to work hard to top mom's accomplishment.

Meb met Switek recently as well. I thought he was a very humble and sincere man.

Which one is Meb?

Is the implication that if you are in that tent that you are a celebrity? Is momjo a celebrity? I have seen Meb in a Visa commercial, but I don't think I have seen momjo in anything. I have to admit that the fourth person in the picture is a celebrity, though.

I was there and that actually was a 61.3 â étage starting off at 64 low and finishing the last 4 at 59.8, 59.3, 58.7 and 56.4 (shirtless for the last two). All in spikes.
And the 45 sec rest was more a 200m jog in 40" -
Thread of the year and it's only january.

How did she get an ESPN backstage/press pass?
-
rojo drunk and posting two straight days? Epic!

The big question is...who is she rooting for?...;) btw, you and Wejo look like her, at least in the eyes. Nice pic, thanks for sharing.

She is rooting for Oregon, naturally. Doesn't everyone know she's a huge Rupp fan with an autgraphed poster up on the bedroom wall?

PS. In actuality, she said it was driving her nuts to not have a team. She loved the Oregon scarves (very fashionable) and got one of those and is rooting for the Ducks. She has read the thread and says she almost fell out of her chair when she read jamin thinks she's hot.
I'm rooting for Ohio State. Coming in I was afraid they'd be blown out but think they are looking great. I'd heard the Big 10 isn't athletic but man does Ohio state have some athletes. The look like an pre-2015 SEC team out there.
Weldon is rooting for the Ducks as coach Mark Helfrich is a big Prefontaine fan.
College football certainly isn't NFL but the mistakes make it fun. I had sort of fallen out of watching during my 10 years while coaching at Cornell as every Saturday was spent at an xc meet or with recruits. -

What did I say? Already on the first drive of 2nd half we had a ridiculous 4th down play and then a drop/interception which you wouldn't see probably in the NFL. -
Spoofing names is common. Always pay attention to the name used, and then adjust your response appropriately. It is possible to dupe a spoofer. They are not as smart as they think.

One notable distinction: this football game is not an NCAA Championship event.
