92% of gun owners in America support universal background checks. You have a funny way of saying, "I have no data to support my position."

More people per capita die in firearm homicides in the United States than in any other developed nation.
Let's get to the real issue here. That being you don't like that citizens own guns. I get it and respond with a resounding "Too Bad."
You will just have to live with it just as you live with your faux notions. Either way, Guns aren't going away in the USA.
80 million gun owners
300 million guns
And less than 30k gun related deaths a yr. To include suicides.
I'd say we are doing alright. Not perfect but then nothing ever is.
No magazine bans or bogus universal background checks are going to happen either.
Your inability to rationalize that their is not an authority to track 300 million guns as well as the fact that politicians lose their arse at every election when they even hint at a ban shows that denial is not just a river in Egypt.
Lastly, I am glad that you can decipher that someone whom has carried a gun in a duty capacity his whole adult life, deployed to hazardous duty theaters on numerous occasions does not fit your emotional stereotype of an American Gun Owner.
Stay closed minded and driven by emotion.
Men with guns have given you that luxury.
