These are high school athletes who compete in 55m dash, 300m, and 4x200/400m

What is the point of this workout?
My guess she is just getting an indication of where they are at speed wise.
Earlier they did 3 x 200m with full recovery and later they will run 3 x 300m with full recovery. This helps bridge the gap.
It may even just be that they had never done the workout before so the kids were less board.
What = a set?
3 x 200m is nothing. 3 x a set could be a whole different world.
